Grind Time

Writer: Sophia SteuerSophia Steuer

GUYS WHY DOES WRITING EMAILS GIVE ME SO MUCH ANXIETY? I like dread this lol but it needs to be done.

One thing about Mexico is you WILL have a stack of tortillas in the center of the table at every meal. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. When I first got here I could hardly look at it because it made me sick, the food was all way too much. Now I sit down at a meal and can't eat my food without a tortilla. I am becoming Mexican.

GOD IS RUNNING THE SHOW. These past two weeks, I have seen God's hand every single day. It amazes me how present he is in this work. There have been literally so many miracles this week that I can only thank God for.

My heart is so happy. Jose Fransisco was a mean alcoholic. He always turned down the missionaries before me very aggressively. But we decided to try one last time. When we knocked he smiled and had tears in his eyes. He said he was so lost he was finally ready to be found. Two weeks later he was baptized!!! He left work early to get a haircut and buy a nice outfit for his special day. He even made a comment in the second hour. He quote "can finally sleep at peace now". God is so good.

We've been teaching a guy named Aldo and you guys I'M LEADING THE LESSONS. He wants to be taught in English which is so funny because he doesn't even speak perfectly but we do what the boss says. Hnm Nava doesn't know enough to lead a lesson in English so all eyes are on me. BUT I LOVE IT. At first, I was scared but now it's my favorite thing ever. I feel like this guy's all mine lol. I wanna baptize him so bad. Which, it's looking like we will because he came to church on Sunday and liked it. He said he's been praying to God every day for years to know him and know which church is true. I told him God is answering his prayers right now. Man, I miss English HAHA can't wait until all my lessons are like this in Spanish.

OKAY TRANSFERS....... I'm staying in the city and getting a new trainer!!! So excited about this because it's FINALLY getting a little bit colder. We've made it to 90 degrees. Which let me tell ya, feels amazing. And I love my ward SO MUCH. Also, I DID NOT want to leave without baptizing Aldo no way. (And I'm an overshopper and have too much food in the fridge) Also, my new trainer speaks zero English which tbh super excited about. Loling at that statement because I used to pray every night for an English-speaking comp but not anymore.... its grind time baby. I gotta learn this language.

Keep praying, keep trusting. One day at a time.

Oh, also I might have a stalker.

Lots of love,

Hermana Steuer
