What's up!! I made it to Mexico!! I left the Mtc with 8 Elders and was the only Sister so I was a little worried about what was to come but eventually in Mexico City we met up with more missionaries, 3 Sisters yaya! None spoke English but that's okay, we communicated through smiles.
Since being here I feel like I'm playing one big game of charades. Just tryna communicate anything is a challenge but I'm tryna smile through it!
When we arrived we met the President (who also doesn't speak English) and stayed in the mission office in the city for a day while we got all our information and assignments. Then I met my trainer and traveled a whole 15 minutes to my new area!! That's right, I'm in the city! To be exact I'm in a little town called Sahuaro which I don't really know how to explain other than it is over 100 degrees every day and no one walks outside unless they are mentally insane or a missionary.
On the bright side though, my bedroom has AC and my cute companion speaks a little English. Counting blessings where I can!!
This week has been tough, it's all a big mental game that I'm trying so hard to win. I am extremely grateful for my family and the encouragement they show me. Just trying to cling to God's hand right now.
Send me emails I love to read them throughout the week!!
Lots of love,
Hermana Steuer

Oh also, I ate cow tongue.
